Oct 12th: Thanksgiving @ MCBC…

Hey church!

Have you ever read or watched the story of 12 Years a Slave? Could you imagine being wrongly taken into captivity or even wrongly imprisoned. What would freedom mean to you? How would you enjoy the freedom you receive? How different would that be from receiving freedom from deserved consequences of offenses you committed?

Have you ever paused and taken the time to thank God for the freedom he has given you? How do you show this gratitude? This coming Sunday, we will dwell in the writings of saint Paul, someone under the "slavery" of several kinds of yokes and pressures but experienced great freedom in Christ.
Get the turkey, ham, pumpkin pie and your praises ready! 😀

Oct 5th: Thanksgiving comes early at MCBC…

Hey church!

This year, Thanksgiving comes early at MCBC. Our Thanksgiving dinner is happening 1 week earlier, this coming Saturday, Oct 4th @ St-Micheal's mission (Red Roof church). Come join us to serve a Thanksgiving meal to our friends in need but also new friends from this group. Since thanksgiving is coming early, we'll also start preaching about thanksgiving and gratitude 1 week earlier but stretching this great topic over 2 weeks. This week, we will start dwelling in the Psalms and exploring a major reason for being thankful: ______________ to God.

We hope to see you all (especially if you want to know how to fill-in that blank)

Sept 28th: this Sunday @ MCBC…

Hey church!

Is it possible that you are richer than you think?

Is it possible that you are richer than you can see?

Money and wealth has the power to blind us. Not only does it have the power to blind us from what matters but more importantly it has the power to blind us from reality. Reality about ourselves and the world around (and beyond!) us. In this “altered” reality, idolatry is rampant and gives birth to many lies…

You’ve guessed it! On Sunday, we will have yet another one of these uncomfortable sermon on money, our money. Let’s pray that we keep our hearts open and humbled to God.
