starting Advent @ MCBC…

Hey church!

How long did you wait for this time of the year to come, again? Christmas is about 1 month away!!! What excites you the most about Christmas? Is it the gifts? The time off work/school? The many feasts? The late nights and late wake-ups? Being with family and friends? So many good things to expect this time of the year.

In preparation to this important date we start celebrating Advent today. Advent is a good time to seize the meaning of Christ’s birth, His life, His redemption, and the call to reflect and foster a proper response to his amazing plan of redemption and restoration for all of mankind. If you are here this coming Sunday then I hope you will be equally blessed as I am blessed preparing for this message. . Any time spend with God in His Word is amazing but somehow Christmas jazzes everything up! 😀

PS. I’m trying this new commentary books for our upcoming Advent sermon series. It’s called the Reformed Expository Commentary. Real exciting stuff I can’t wait to share with you! 😀 😀 😀

Gospel Sunday @ MCBC…

Hey church!

For this coming Gospel Sunday I thought it would be nice to spend some time talking about “faith”. I know it is a vast topic and impossible to completely cover in 1 morning but the Gospel and faith are so intricately connected that I thought it deserved some attention. You most probably have read about it, learned about it and maybe even discussed it at length before. Maybe you have friends who like this topic or have questions about the Gospel and faith? This is a good time to get cracking at this amazing thing which is faith. Montreal Put into words and wrap our minds around something many of us live with on a daily basis.

I hope you’ll be able to invite some friends and have an engaging discussion on Sunday morning around a nice cup of coffee and croissant! 😀

See y’all at 9:30!!

WOMR (part 3): The Filthy Rich or the Filthy Poor

Hey church!

Have you ever experienced eating in a new cafeteria for the first time? Either in a new school, new work place, etc? Do you remember trying to look for people to eat with? For some people it was a wonderful experience as they met new friends and joined a new circle of friends. For others it was an embarrassing and painful experience as they faced loneliness and rejection. . Montreal If they were still alive many Bible characters would be able to tell us stories related to eating in “new cafeterias” or rather “new table companions”. One such character is Levi.

This Sunday we will meet with Levi in Luke 5:27-32 to explore what it means to be poor and how the poor can be good table companions.

Feel free to download and share it: 2011-03-13- WOMR – part 3 The Filthy Rich or the Filthy Poor (RB) (date preached: March 13th, 2011)
