March 2nd: this Sunday @ MCBC…

Hey worshipers!

This coming Sunday we will be having our first sermon of the year on tithes and offering. May 2014 be another great year of personal growth in how we worship God and serve him through our finances, tithes and offering. May God bless his storehouse at MCBC!

 

In light of the topic of our message today it is fitting to have a math problem:

In 1 Kings 8, we’re told Solomon offered 22,000 cattle and 120 sheep/goats to God at the Temple. If there was 1 priest assigned to work 24 hours a day, for 7 days, then at what frequency should he be performing a sacrifice in order to sacrifice all the animals (in other words, how much time would he have between each animal to sacrifice them all)?

Feb 23rd: Gospel Sunday

Hey church!

Did anyone do something special for Valentines' day last weekend? Did you have a friend, girlfriend, boyfriend, fiancé or spouse to celebrate with?

What if you had a date lined up but at the last minute your date decided to ditch you and go out with someone else…OUCH! How would you feel? Jealous? Angry? Somehow that's how many of us live our relationship with God. Do you recognize yourself?

If you haven't guessed yet, this coming Gospel Sunday we will be talking about God's jealous love.

Jan 26th: God’s will for all occasions

Hey church!

Starting this Sunday and the 3 Sundays after, Ed Carruthers will be preaching for us. He is a long time friend to our congregation and used to be a regular preacher at our church. It is a pleasure to have him back to worship with us and share God’s Word.

 

This morning Ed will focus on trusting that God's will is always the best for us, despite how things may look.
