Dec 9th: Advent Sunday #3 @ MCBC…

Hey guys!

If your mouth had been bound and your ears shut so that you were mute and deaf what would you do? What would be the first words to come out of your mouth if you had been deaf and mute for 9 months? And how would you say what you would want to say? As much as Christmas is an extravagant message this message also had a very quiet side…a very silent prelude that ended with a shout. This is advent Sunday #3. Tongues will be loosen on advent Sunday #3!!!

Dec 1st: Advent Sunday #2 @ MCBC…

Hey peeps!

Some ppl have a knack for being killjoys. During Christmas season they are those who will argue about the origin or validity of Christmas. Amongst the many killjoys some will argue that Christmas did not really happen during Winter and that we adjusted this event to fit the calendar…blah blah blah…who cares!? That's tiny detail compared to the HUGENESS of the event itself. Do not get sidetracked. Let’s focus on the event: Jesus was born! This is too BIG of an event to not be rejoicing. It would be crazy not to be rejoicing and giving praise to God for this amazing event.

Be ready for advent Sunday #2!

PS. Here is last week's benediction. . It was so nice that I had to use it. It was written by Bruce Prewer based on Isaiah 9:2-7

The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light;

those who lived in deepest night, are lit up with a brilliant sight.

Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given.

The spread of his influence and of his peace will never end.

Therefore, go out into the world with great joy,

and the grace of Bethlehem’s matchless Child,

the love of the God who never ceases to amaze,

and the fellowship of the Spirit who never wearies,

will be with you this holy night and evermore.

Thanks be to God!

Nov 25th: starting Advent @ MCBC…

Hey church!

How long did you wait for this time of the year to come, again? Christmas is about 1 month away!!! What excites you the most about Christmas? Is it the gifts? The time off work/school? The many feasts? The late nights and late wake-ups? Being with family and friends? So many good things to expect this time of the year.

In preparation to this important date we start celebrating Advent today. Advent is a good time to seize the meaning of Christ's birth, His life, His redemption, and the call to reflect and foster a proper response to his amazing plan of redemption and restoration for all of mankind. . If you are here this coming Sunday then I hope you will be equally blessed as I am blessed preparing for this message. Any time spend with God in His Word is amazing but somehow Christmas jazzes everything up! 😀

PS. I'm trying this new commentary books for our upcoming Advent sermon series. It's called the Reformed Expository Commentary. Real exciting stuff I can't wait to share with you! 😀 😀 😀
