Our brother and friend Todd Shaffer is looking forward to worship with us and share God's word to us this coming Sunday. He has entitled his sermon: Simeon's 11 o' Clock Number, based on the scripture from Luke 2:28-35. Here is what he sent me to describe his message.

"The closing event of the nativity story centers on an elderly priest named Simeon who receives the infant Jesus at the Temple.  He presents two short blessings which complete a profound nativity portrait of the Messiah and introduce some surprising details to what this child will achieve in God's plan of redemption and how he will be received by the nation."

How would you define “freedom”?

This morning is Easter Sunday. A day many celebrate as the time when Jesus resurrected from the dead after being crucified and put in a tomb. What is the significance of his resurrection when we think about freedom? Is his resurrection still needed and relevant in the 21^st century?
